For the Love of Jazz cultivates a community appreciation of jazz by providing and promoting opportunities to learn about, participate and listen to live performances by jazz artists. We also provide educational activities by local, regional and national jazz artists.

For the Love of Jazz provides opportunities for music students through scholarships and financial support for performances.  Our annual instrument donation program collects unused musical instruments from the community and donates them to the Washoe County School System and other nonprofit organizations.

For the Love of Jazz is a non-profit, tax exempt 501(c)3 Nevada corporation formed in May of 1974 by a small group of jazz musicians and enthusiasts. The original members came together to develop opportunities to perform outside of the showroom big bands. The goal was to play original compositions and improvise together, quite literally for the love of jazz!

For the Love of Jazz
